Retire-cation musings

Hi ya’ll!  Woke up this morning to a winter wonderland. More snow expected to fall throughout the day. Terry and I are cozy inside with no plans to leave the house. Someone has already scooped the sidewalks and front porch.

We will use this time to finalize our next road trip to the Florida Keys in February.  It’s fun to plan a sunny get-away while we enjoy the pretty snow covered view outside. The joy of retirement: enjoying the rhythm of the seasons and going with the flow.  I am soooooo grateful.

Wishing you and yours a wonderful 2019!  Cheers,

Mary

  1. Hi, Mary and all, Just wanted to let you know that Key Largo is nice and the other keys along the way. Brad and I visited that area about 5 years ago. Only drawback is the long drive down. On the highway to Key Largo, speed limit is 55 mph, and two lanes in lots of areas, so plan on extra time for driving. I suggest stopping along the way, since there are many nice beach areas and restaurants. Key Largo itself is developed and not many beaches to access there, mainly interest in the town, and boardwalk area--Mallory Square. I would suggest the train that takes you on a tour and also going on a boat cruise. Also, catch the Cat Man Show on Mallory Square https://www.catmankeywest.com/, it's really cool. Loved it each night and also lots of other street performers.
